The State Election Commission, Gujarat was constituted in September 1993 under Composition 243K of the Constitution of India. The State Election Commission has been entrusted with the task of conducting free, fair and unprejudiced choices to the original bodies of the state.
The State Election Commission carries out conditioning related to the medication of ward/ election department as per the rules of original bodies, decision of boundaries and distribution of seats, medication of namer list for original bodies like Gram Panchayat, Taluka and District Panchayat/ Nagarpalika and Municipal. Conduct and cover state pots and generalmid-term/ by- choices. For all these functions, the authority has been delegated to the State Election Commission under Article 243 K, under which it has been given the supervisor, direction and control of original body choices.
According to the election rules of similar original bodies, a quarter election officer has been appointed for panchayat choices, a quarter external election officer for external choices and a megacity election officer for external choices. The State Election Commission has empowered the Collectors for all conditioning relating to Gram Panchayat choices where limits and seats have been distributed by the State Reserve Commission for colorful reticent orders, namer list, election programs and other affiliated conditioning.
